After 20 years of regularly meeting and piping together on Friday nights, in 2005 this dedicated group of Bagpipe players finally decided it was time to form themselves into an official Pipe Band: The Harbour Pipes & Drums. And we haven’t looked back since! Comprising of Girls, Boys, Ladies & Gentlemen with ages ranging from 8 to 85, the Band’s services have been requested in numerous locations throughout the region.

The Band’s activities have included summer fetes, Remembrance Day parades, welcoming Father Christmas to Emsworth to turn on the Christmas lights, as well as private functions. But throughout it all, the emphasis has always been on fun and enjoyment. The Band even sent a contingency to the World Record Breaking 2005 Pipefest event in Edinburgh. Along with a few other pipers & drummers (well another 9,100+ if you must know), we raised much needed funds for The Marie Curie Cancer Care Charity.

The Band members regularly get together for social functions and there is a great sense of camaraderie.

Lead by Pipe Major Joe Fagan, the group continues to grow with the priority being on encouraging the younger generation.

Based midway between Chichester and Portsmouth, the Band plays at venues throughout Hampshire and West Sussex.
